Increadible July sightings

July has brought incredible whale watching trips off the coast of Provincetown and onto the Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary. With fantastic numbers of humpback whales feeding, breaching and moving around the area. One sunset trip the second week of July had over 35 humpback whales alone. Many finback whales have been sighted as well with numbers of over 12 seen on some trips. Many of the whales have been seen feeding on the smaller schooling fish the sand eels or sand lance. There have also been many mother calf pairs seen on almost every trip as well. Spoon & calf, salt and her new calf  as well as man others. We can’t forget about the minke whales either with over 15-20 sighted over the past 2 weeks.

The 2006 season has brought Dolphin Fleet closer to the scientific community than ever before, sharing data with many scientific groups as well as schools and government agencies to help with species counts, new calf’s as well as other important data collected. Our naturalists are also experts at educating and bringing fun to you and your family or friends.

New onboard interaction like charting programs, plankton tows, whale sounds and more.       If any time to see the whales at there best it is now! Come see what’s new with Dolphin Fleet Whalewatch. It’s not just a Whalewatch. Visit our education & research pages to see what’s new.
